my philosophy
People seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons. Some people come to "vent," or get some support while others want to change long-standing patterns of relating to others and/or behaviors that used to work, but don’t anymore.
This process provides the opportunity for clients to engage in a therapeutic alliance with a supportive, nonjudgmental clinician who is professionally trained to understand how and why clients’ have developed ways of being.
My job is to then help clients recognize and mobilize their strengths to help develop the resources they need to cope better and change. The center of my philosophy is that clients are the experts on themselves, and I am there to interpret and guide people to where they would like to go.
Therapy is a way of Building Bridges, initially with a therapist, with others, with the past, and with yourself.
